2 years, 11 months, 11 days

That's how long we've been waiting for Kamila to come home.  That's how long we've been kept separated from our daughter.  Can you imagine?  Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought of her...ached for her to be here.  Her birthday is this Saturday.  She'll be three.  She'll be spending it alone, without her family, again.

These pictures are from one of her group-mates birthday parties last week.  One thing is for sure - these kiddos are eating A LOT of cake lately!!  And yes, the clippers were located - the party resembled that of a new recruit boot camp luncheon.

We're hoping our translator is successful in getting into the orphanage this coming Saturday to put on a little celebration for Kamila and her group.

Oh Shannon - my heart is aching with you. Hoping Kamila is recognized on her special day.

It breaks my heart that they have shaved the kids' heads again! It's not right - they shouldn't be treated this way - happy birthday sweet K!

Shannon...my heart breaks with you. She is such a beautiful and special little girl. They all are. I can't pretend to know how you feel, I only had a taste of that separation. But, I promise you that they are all in my prayers, as are the families waiting. You are a special family and I pray that your next adoptions will be swift and "smooth". Kamila will have an awesome family to welcome her home with more brothers and sisters.

These pictures are adorable. Most kids wouldn't be that cute with their hair shaved off, but she looks great. Glad the fundraiser went so well, too.
